Who we are

We is basically Theresa Frank and Christian Schmid, owner of Tungulending ehf. and responsible for the content of this website. Our mission is to make the booking and stay in Tungulending as easy for you as possible so you can have a relaxed stay and enjoy the time in our guesthouse.

Information we collect & how and why we use information

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so – for example, to provide our services or to communicate with you. We collect information in two ways:

1. Information you provide to us

Communication: We collect information that you provide via our email-form on this website (full name, email address and the content of you email). Same with the emails you send directly to us using our email address mail@tungulending.is

When you booked a room in our guesthouse, we will send you one or two emails in advance to make sure your stay with us is well planned. Such as: Asking if you like to have dinner in our house (dinner always has to be preordered) or whether you want to book a whale watching tour during your stay in Húsavík.

2. Information we collect from other sources

Booking engine: When you want to book a room through our website you are referred to a booking engine that helps us with automation and keeps our bookings in control. It is run by “cloudbeds”. When you book a room via our cloudbeds booking engine, we collect the information that you provide to conclude the booking. Such as full name, mailing address, home address, billing address, country of origin, language, phone number, payment information, date of booking, preferred currencies. Cloudbeds may collect more data on their behalf. Please find their own policy here.

Our website is built with wordpress. Please find their own privacy policy here.

Links

We use links to other websites and organization on our website. Such as cloudbeds – as a booking engine, tumblr – where we documented the constructions made to the building, facebook – for networking, instagram – for news and sunsets.
